Inflation Hits Cost of Gifts for 12 Days of Christmas
The “PNC Christmas Price Index” which computes the cost of all items in the Twelve Days of Christmas carol is up 7.7% to $27,393.
The total increase over the 30-year history of the index is 116%, almost the same as the US Consumer Price Index increase. That means prices have more than doubled in 30 years.
Inflation makes the material gifts of true love more expensive every year, but the intangible gift of true love is priceless.
